Over the years we have found that simple does not have to be plain. Also some of the best meals we have had on the boat have been the ones have concocted with leftovers just thrown into the pan. Also with a young child who is happy snacking on tomatoes & cucumber, I have got quick & easy finger food down to a fine art.
I have found it essential to have a a few basic cooking utensils and some store cupboard essentials.I will no doubt add to the list as I remember items, but I always
Cooking Utensils:
Large Frying Pan- As big as boat space will allow- essential for frying everything together.
Spatula
Pair if Cooking Tongs
Small, Medium & Large Saucepans.
2 Sharp Knives, 1 Large & 1 Small.
Sharp Serrated Bread Knife & Wooden Chopping Board
Small Colander.
Store Cupboard Essentials:
Vegetable Gravy Granules
Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper
Gammon & Rice Fry Up.
